Bloody hell, I'm really sorry to hear that. Was your chain old, slack or what? Any lessons for the rest of us here?

Bad luck mate. Glad you are ok though, could have been real nasty.

I see a pattern imerging here thats two engines gone west. Bad luck chap. On the up side, if you decide its too much to fix I need some more fairings. See if you can borrow a loaner from SC and I'll get the coffees in at Loonies.

Cheers.:cheers

H..

There's always time for lubrication!!!

sorry to hear that mate, it happened to a friend of mine on a sv650, had his chain to tight. at least ur sfe could of been worse!!

hmmm just had a new set of tyres fitted in wales???? checked the chain prioir to setting off, it was only 3 months old and had only done about 1500miles?? bit lost without it:dunno

Did you have the tyres fitted on loose wheels or was it a ride in ride out fitting :dunno I always re-fit my own wheels that way I have to tension my chain and i know it's going to be done correctly, some garages just dont spend that extra few minutes to make sure it's done properly :roll

Glad it didn't end up any worse than it did mate :thumbup

yean ride in left it for the day and ride out... never again unless Sothern Cross do it

CHECKS :pirate

Sorry about your bike fella, a tight chain can be a killer so i'm glad you got away unhurt :thumbup

It was an RK Excel Heavy Duty Non O Ring 520 Gold Racing Chain.

If it was cheap and nasty i could understand it:dunno

I've had 2 rear tyres fitted at the same place and both times the chain was like piano wire when they gave the bike back!! They check AS they're tightening the axle nut up but not once it's tight, and we all know how our rear wheels like to creep back on tightening!!

well she is now in the very capable hands of Don and the Southern Cross team:thumbup if they can not sort her she is ready for the pearlie gates:dunno

Great news!!!!!!!!!!!!! well she is ready for the road, got the phone call today and she has a new heart in her(do not ask the price please that part hurts) going to pick her up tomorrow and get her warm then see if she still goes on one wheel........... Boys and toys will i ever learn........
