back firing

K

kirky

i want to ask the experts on what you think, due to a back op i have not been out on my mille for over 6 months i go out and start it once a week ,it starts fine but once started it always seems to back fire a few times and run abit rough for 20 secs then clears itself, when i turn it off and try again once warm is seems ok ,do you think it is due to unburnt fuel in the exhaust as not riding it and stop starting the baffle is out off the exhaust if that makes any difference, just wanted to check i am not doing any harm thanks.

Hi kirky, quick question, is the fuel 6 months old as well? :dunno

Hope you are recovering well from the back op :thumbup

the bike is kept in a garage with cover over would not think it was the fuel?

I wouldn't read too much into it until you can ride it proper. If there is a problem it should show up then.

It's probably just condensation on the air sensor or plug leads etc.

I'm having the same problem, but with fresh fuel. Anyone experiencing the same? It's driving me nuts. I've got a WERKS duel can exhaust on mine and both cans back fire about the same # of times for about 20-30 secs until it gets warm.
