Avg running engine temp?

Just curious,

I have a 2012 v4r which hovers around 170 degrees Fahrenheit. When stopped it shoots up to 215 degrees before the fans kick on. Is this normal?

72-74 degrees centigrade normal running temp on mine fans come on when bloody hot

Not familiar with V4 running temps, but that scenario is exactly the same as on the V2's. These bikes are known to get hot v-quick, in stop/start traffic (although I always filter if possible), and even just running at low speed in 1st or 2nd gears. Probably the same for all big V2's & V4's.

So long as the fans come on, and either hold the temp, or ideally drop it, there's no problem.

Mine is the same but quickly goes up to 100 in lower gears and traffic.

As others have said 72 - 76 at 100k, 95 - 102 in stop and go traffic, up to 104 when completely stopped.

Same as mine, Fans kick in at about 102 ish
