Aspar reveals further details of Hungarian circuit

Jorge Martinez Aspar predicts that the new Baltonring track will be faster than fellow stadium circuit Valencia.
Further details of the Balatonring circuit –the new Hungarian track added to the World Championship calendar for 2009- have emerged courtesy of Jorge Martinez Aspar, who will be closely linked with the track in his role as WCM President.
The Spanish Team Manager for the Aspar outfits in both 125cc and 250cc revealed the consultation process carried out with those set to take to the track next year, speaking at the press conference held last Wednesday in Budapest.
`We have a very exciting project ahead of us, one that is interesting in every respect. The concept for the circuit is very modern; we´ve had the technical support of the MotoGP riders. The likes of Valentino Rossi, Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner and Marco Melandri have all helped out,´ stated Aspar, who himself competed in 125cc World Championship races in Hungary in the early 1990s (at the Hungaroring circuit).
All new additions to the MotoGP calendar are subjected to a rigorous series of safety examinations, and Aspar is confident that the Central European track can balance the need for speed with the need to protect riders from injury.
`The most important thing to mention is that it will be a safe circuit, in a stadium style like that of Valencia. It´s a fast circuit –much faster than Valencia- with a minimum width of 14 metres so it can hold many other events.´
The Hungarian round will be a home Grand Prix for Aspar rider Gabor Talmacsi, who is set to move up to the 250cc class in 2009. He was also present at the press conference.
Balatonring is scheduled to hold it´s first MotoGP event on September 20th next year.
