I had an argument with a large rock the other week that was lying in the road on a misty ride home from watching some motocross. Results a nasty jump in the air on the Tuono followed by two dented rims. Luckly stayed upright.

Insurance company picked up the bike the following day, fairplay. The garage that is repairing the Tuono has told me that I better pray that Aprilia have new wheels in the UK otherwise I could be waiting a while. He also said from his experience if we cant get them by late July the factory closes for August and then we'll be lucky if they clear the backlogg by xmas.

Anyone experienced the Aprilia parts nightmare?? I've booked a European trip in August so am worried I wont have a bike.

you could try and get them re-rolled, never the same .but i had a pair done at Motoliner a few years back, they looked ok..

Them or Roy Thursby. They can repair pretty much anything on an ally wheel these days.

Just spoke to the garage and they have been told by Aprilia that they should have them in 7 working days. Fingers crossed.

Thats true of Ducati but mebbe not 'Prilla.
The spares are kept in a central warehouse in Switzerland. The UK dealer can see if they are in stock and order them on line.My pillion seat hump took around 5 days to arrive.

That's good to hear. Well the dealer has said he's been told 7 days so lets hope all is well.

Agreed. I see you and Griff as the good guys. (that's you as in CT, not the follically challenged Aberdonian..)

I can't source the wheels myself otherwise I would have been on to some of you guys. I'm in the hands of the garage thats doing the repairs. Fingers crossed all will go to plan.

Aprilia may have set up a proper parts network but it is still the worst of any manufacturer ever in my experience. 4 months it took for my warranty parts last year.

This time of the year is the worst. If you don't receive it by August, your season will be over.
