hi all, does ant 1 know any aprilis dealers in n.ireland or recommend sum1 for servicing? as far as im aware they have all pulled out and i need a 9000 mile service!

The UK Aprilia website lists the following two dealers:

Crossan Motorcycles in Newry

Coleraine Motorcycles in Londonderry

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there aren't really any proper dealers i am aware of apart from rr motorcycles and marine in lisburn, and i wouldn't go near them if i was you. You hear a lot of @oh yeah phillip McCallan used to and so and so used to but most are either used to do them or yes i deal ducatis so i'll say i'm an aprillia mechanic too! The main one was race base in belfast but its closed a few years back. Where abouts are you in our fair isle?

hi mate im from belfast good to see another local on. where do u get ur servicing done?

Hi Skinso, indeed there are not so many dedicated persons around Belfast who are interested or who have the skill,s these days. There is a good guy in Lisburn who could do it but he is alone and is often very busy, Franks motorcycles Lisburn, worth a try though. McCallens are now also in Lisburn and although not the agent anymore they do have well trained tech,s who could manage this for you. cheers and good luck.

hey i'm in east belfast and use and trust geoff keornohan on the newtonards road for all my servicing stuff. I too am at 9000 and am just about to put mine in to get the the valve clearances checked. The only thing he doesn't do is CO EGA balancing and that or any diagnostic or dyno stuff i use brian jones at mototech out in lisburn direction. I'm sure phillip McCallans guys are good as they used to deal in aprilia's but i was chatting to Phillip a while ago and he said the reason he gave up the franchise was largely because parts and servicing was a nightmare.

Wherever you go getting non consumable parts is often the real difficulty, but with anything standard you'll have no problems.

right let's start a wee Who's taking their RSV to the north west theme!

I'm coming from belfast and I'll probably take the coast road up on the saturday morning.

Mate has just mailed me to say Coleraine Motorcycles (who are the only ones with an Axone now)or Jeremy McWilliams who gets his old Aprilia mechanic to do them seemingly:thumbup

I heard a rumour that Jeremy McWilliams was no longer trading as race base closed down but as badger says still puts a bit of work to his old mechanics. I don't know how to get a hold of him but i i think if you called by race base there may be someone there.

If you had a fault you needed sorted or diagnosed i'd of course recommend an aprilia dealer but for a routine service i'm happy with a decent mechanic i can trust, its also easier than driving to coleraine. But if you are up that way then it may be worth looking in on them.

there is no 1 at race base the shop has been shut for nearly 2 years

i know the shop has been closed down but i have seen the garage door at the side open once with an rs125 sitting outside it. But it may just have been a coincidence.
