I’ve finally found out the problem with the one-off programmable ignition for my race bike and have decided to have another couple of seasons trying to win F400 on a 250 before I’m too old, slow, scared and useless (and before my daughter reaches some high cost teenage years).
I need to fund this folly and it’s pretty hard to justify having a track bike and a race bike, as well as 2 road bikes (RSV1000 & 900ss), so I’ve decided to see if anybody is interested in my track bike.
It’s a 2006 RSVR1000 Factory. I bought it as a damaged road bike 2 years ago (and I think there is still a decent carbon side panel in the garage somewhere!). It had fairing damage and a couple of scuffs on the tank and one damaged fairing stay. There was no damage to engine cases or even the footrests. I replaced the fairing stay, bought a new ARD body kit and painted it as you see below, fitted R&G crash bungs, changed the steering and wheel bearings and bought a new brake lever for peace of mind. It had covered 3300 road miles when I got it and it’s now done 3750 miles. The bike is completely standard, it even has the intake flapper valve and side stand switch and could go straight back on the road if you had a body kit. I have the V5 and the service book; the numbers are all present and untouched. The bike hasn’t been crash or even fallen over since I have owned it.
The motor is fit making 123 Dynapro horses (that’s approx 132 on a Dynojet dyno)
It’s just had an oil and filter change (but it’s only ever been 1 track day away from it’s next oil change!), has new plugs , good Brembo brake pads and a healthily chain and sprockets.
The forks could do with a service (£90-150 depending on who does it)
I could sell it in various combinations of bike & spares depending on price
Eg. Std bike with original exhausts £3300
Bike as in photo with Akras and std exhausts (the RHS Akra is dented but fully functional), spare sprockets and levers £3500
Or the full kit as above but including a spare set of blue OZ wheels with wets, cush drive and discs £4000.
