I'm hopin thats the end of all my bad luck! I'm still signed off work properly till the 15th of dec at the earliest so pants wages for another month.

To cheer me up I had my kawasaki put on the rolling road to get it sorted out - it **** itself! looks like a big end let go.

My dad had a full knee replacement and has taken ill due to the operation.

I've had a few more dizzy turns too so havn't been able to drive, there goes my plans for going out on the mx bike at the weekend too.

Just hope i'll be able to laugh at it all in a few months.

Anything good happened on the forum as I can't be arsed reading back 3 weeks worth of posts?

N not really mate, dont know wether or not you know but griffs place got bust into and his tools got robbed f*ckin nob heads!

Sorry to hear about your **** week mate,it made me realise other people have problems too. :dunno

I'm still trying to find a job after nearly 6 months of redundancy and it's driving me up the wall, the weather's been absolute crap so I can't get out for any 2 wheeled '' therapy'' and I think the bloody garage is flooded as well, at least it's a welly boot job to wade close enough to unlock the door.

Ain't life grand? :devious

ruddy hell. I hope he's insured. Some toerags tried to get into mine last week but fortunatly i've reinforced the up and over door with steel and fitted 5 additional padlocks and they didn't get in.:biggrin

Sorry to hear about the redundancy and the flooding. What kind of work are you into?

It's ok :thumbup **** happens

It's a problem with up and over doors as to how much you can do to make them secure without calling attention to the fact there is something in there worth stealing. I fitted one of those Motrax security bolts with a close shackle Sirca padlock which slides into the side brick wall ,but if someone wants to get in badly enough they will,it will make a bit of noise tho' plus I park my car close up to the door so that would have to be broken into first then moved to allow the door to be opened.

As regards work I'm a CNC programmer/operator on vertical machining centres with a spell of CNC Wire eroding thrown in, and design and production engineering experience as well. I've also lately been on one of these government paid for training courses to learn the SolidWorks modelling software, that was a facinating 2 weeks, plus 3 star lunches and drinks thrown in as well, plus travelling expenses, they know how to spend the Welsh Assy's money all right :thumbup

I could be a serial course attendee if someone wants to pay for me.

If only I had my own machines, with this time on my hands I could have designed and made any amount of custom bits for the bikes, when I was working I never had the time to make things for myself.

One of the things I would like to do is design and build a chassis for the ape engine that uses a Hossack style double wishbone front end.
Nobody including BMW have done the job properly as it was envisaged by Norman Hossack, and it's been eating away at the back of my mind for a few years now, with SolidWorks it is possible to animate the full suspension travel and do Finite Stress Analysis as well.........allegedly :devious

Anyway, the sun's come out now and the water level round the garage is going down so I may get out there and clean up a bit shortly, hopefully the rain will stay away long enough to make it worthwhile getting leathered up and going out for some ''therapy''

All the bracing and the locks are on the inside as I can acess the garage through my house. Its secured in the corners and has a additional lock at the top to stop it being sprung. Then rucks of aluminium and steel bracing to stop the door from being bent or twisted.

I'm gobsmaked a cnc op is short of work although I suppose it make sence in a reccession. My old man used to have a tool room and I was going to follow him into it. A last minute change of plan saw me change my mind.
I have a itch to scratch though as I wouldn't mind a big enough garage to fit a small lathe and milling machine.

Heya Gazman, you still struggling mate - thats ****** - have they done an MRI on yer heed yet? & hows the ribs? so how come they can pay you ***** money when you're off for an injury sustained at work? I'd be havin words matey.

So is it the same bigend as the other engines you've got? (hope you haven't got shod of them yet!?).

I'm assuming someones tipped some theiving fuckers off, hence the attempted breakin - or is it just someone trying thier luck? I'm thinking someone obviously knows what you have - fukin *********!!!!!:jack was thinking about it when I came over to yours - I'll send you a mail with what I thought might be an idea, worked for me.

Unfortunately my garage is one of a block outside so access is from front only. I was thinking about getting one of those sectional concrete garage /workshops put up next to the house and putting a lathe & mill in it but the cost, existing drains, and the council being stroppy put paid.

Reason for lack of work is simple really, I'm living in the economic disaster area otherwise known as ...N Wales :dunno
Just noticed you are up in Liverpool,I was up your way recently ,SRT M/cycles Birkenhead? Mate's got the engineering shop at same address,do you ever get down to Betwse or the Ponderosa when the weathers better?

I used to but I had to break my road bike for financial reasons, I'm just going to do the odd trackday when they are cheap or a few race meetings on my crosserto get my bike fix now.

That was pretty much why I bought the Mille,it was supposed to be a track hack but unfortunately with the redundancy as well I can't afford them now.

So I now have two 1000cc V twins taxed and insured and hardly get out much at all now. Generally take the battery off in Nov and forget about the bike till MOT time in March.

Tell you one thing,I reckon the Anglesey track is safer than riding the roads round here on a Sun.At least there are no numptys pulling out across you......they just stuff themselves up the inside going into the Rocket complex instead LOL :devious
