And they're off!!!!!

After some dithering I've finally taken my forks off to be sent off and rechromed by Philpots of Luton.

BIG WORD OF ADVICE- PLEASE PLEASE take note that if you feel the need to use loctite on a bolt, it's probably best to use a proper metal bolt, and not those stupid pink anodised aluminium ones like the *** that owned my bike before me!!!!

I was proper happy when I got the first one out!!!! I know it's not a mega achievement but it's the most I've ever taken apart one of my bikes and it was surprisingly easy- the top fairing is only held on by a couple of bolts!!!

Thanks to Griff for calling me as I was just unwrapping my abba stand, and a big thanks to Zoe, I'm sure Griff puts something in her coffee to be that lively that early in the morning, for calling me when I was trying to free the stupid pink bolt. Can't wait for my new pads and sprocket!!

I'll put some pics up when they come back and let you know what I think of Philpots services. £320 to collect, fully disassemble, rechrome then put new seals and oil on and deliver them back.

Anybody know how to get them back on lol...

Blimey mate, you've been busy. I've come to the conclusion that those ABBA stands make you want to take things apart, happens to me all the time. Still got the 2 cardboard boxes of bits I couldn't figure out where to put back.

3 hours work. I must admit i was surprised. Most of that was time spent drilling out the pink things. Still got to super glue the rubber boots back into the top fairing where they should be.
Only problem is now i'm at work for 8 hours so i'm gonna be knackered
