Just booked my track days at almeira, March 10,11,12. Any body going?:doug

Done almeria april last year, you'll love it, really good track (though I have no previous experiance to base that on)

What company did you do it with? I have done Oulton Park a few times but this will be my 1st abroad. How did your bike cope with it? i have a 2002 factory.

went with tracksense, bike coped really well no worries.
Was actually pretty much the first time i rode the bike. Was meant to be going on my triumph but it had a catastrophic electrical failure about 5 days before it was due to be shipped out. Then I saw my current 2001 mille R for sale so got a loan, and picked up the bike the day before it was shipped to almeria.:thumbup

There's a couple of tricky bits at almeria, a double apex bend at turn two and a double apex at turn 5.
Nice drive through the desert to the track too. Nothings faster than a hire car:devious

Yes the academy is there as an option, great right up and pics mate, looks great. You say your bike was out gunned, i have a 2002 factory track bike, i am now a bit worried it will be too slow! Really am looking forward to it now though. Sounds like i will suffer in the heat too, scottish blood.

Dunc, it depends on the bikes that are there really, the 04 onwards bikes have more top speed than your bike, the gearing i was running was 15/46, i had other gearing that would have given me more top speed, but the infield section would have suffered, what gearing have you got? Your bike with 15/43 will top out about the same speed as mine was at 153-155 or so.

Don't worry about it though, just enjoy it mate:thumbup

When I was out there i was running standard gearing (since switched to 15/42) but I was still able to get on the power a lot earlier than the IL4 boys, beauty of the v-twin.
Only place they had an advantage was on the back straight, I would get on the power earlier coming out of the corner and gain a few bike lengths, then by about half way up the straight they would come level with me and maybe creap ahead. But I could usually out break them into the next corner.:thumbup
