Looking at the parts diagram, it shows inner air duct 2 x AP8102831 (std & R) or AP8168759 & AP8168760 (RL)
My bike has neither fitted, will this hurt performance? or improve it?
I am wanting good air flow especially at high speed as I will be entering some top speed events with this bike. Do the ducts for the RL version give more ram effect?
£50 will not break the bank

What year bike do you have?

1999 Early bikes had them, later usa restricted bike had them, the full power big valve 2001 didn't have them.

Aprilia RSV 1000 Mille R
This site has lots of info, look at all the info on each year....

I have ordered a set of Edwards rep ducts from Ultimate parts.
I have fitted the Early type airbox inlet. I made the gaskets from a mouse mat that I bought from the pound shop and held them on the frame with double sided tape. I had a pleasant surprise when I opened the airbox, it already had a K&N filter fitted

The first thing most people do is mod the airbox , it is restrictive, air tubes and pressurised intake don't work under 120 mph, there's lots about air filters on the Web , which is best, which is not....
K&N's are ***** imho :eatcorn

The relevent sentence from first post in this thread "I will be entering some top speed events with this bike"

6 of one, 6 of another...... if the tubes restrict flow you lose torque at lower speeds, if they work at all. ...

Also funny how ultimate parts quote every obsolete part, without having the bits. Ultimate parts are 'ultimately disapointing' imho, you will get a phone call in about 6 weeks asking what you ordered !
Why didn't you follow the advice to go to jester who makes the parts ?

Some people are so stoooopid.......lol

I was calling myself stupid for buying parts from ultimate,
They never ultimately arrived, wrong parts were sent.
I would investigate if the other supplier is still making the parts / and ask ultimate if they have the parts and can supply the parts ! Ultimate is very slow at answering the phone / email etc....

Good luck. From racing make sure the brakes aren't binding, old wheel bearings and old chains suck up power like no other. A 520 chain is more efficient than a 525 chain. Tyres old tyres aren't as grippy, get new. Reseach optimum tyre pressures, alter gearing for vmax. A quick shifter helps to. Also your position on the bike slows you down. Reasearch optimal body position.... just a few !

I have had good service from Ultimate Parts. A couple of weeks ago I ordered the starter gear at 4PM ish on Friday, it arrived mid morning on Saturday

Yep never had a problem with ultimate parts, Martin is a top guy and always very helpful

On my 99 model I fitted some carbon ones that fill the intake throat at the front and funnel into the airbox. Ill dig out a pic if I can find them. Not ridden since I fitted it as that was all part of the rebuild when I binned it last year.
