Advice please!! - rsv r factory

Hi every1, im new to this forum and thought you guys may be able to help me out!?
Sold my sp-2 in dec08, and definitely buying a new rsv factory.
Currently, at my local dealer, they have 1 priced @ £7995 on the road, brand new, which seems a gr8 deal anyway. But the salesman has told me, better to buy now, early feb, then wait, as he proclaims if anything, price will go up.
What i want to know is, obviously with the new v4 due to arrive, do you think that statement is true??
Im not stuck for the rsv just yet, especially with the recent weather, is it worth waiting? and will the rsv factory drop in value when the v4 arrives?
Any advice will be much appreciated, as naturally im trying to achieve the best deal.
Also, any tips and hints on how to get a new bike price down even more, or get extras included!?
Regards Terry G

Hi Terry ,

Taz are doing the Factory for £7295 on the road, so you cn use that as a bargaining tool to get yours a bit cheaper. (Maybe a set Akra's)
Most bikes/cars are going up in price already so yes buy now because they will cost more sooner rather than later.

Hope this helps

is it definatley a new bike you are after ?
only reason i say is you could probably get a low milage much loved and already lavished with loads of goodies for a lot less

just a thought :thumbup

I'm unsure that the rsv will go up in price.

Mainly because they stopped making it quite a few months back so what is i the shops is all their is going to be.
Having already paid Aprilia for the bike there is no cost increase to the dealer. They paid sterling and you buy in sterling so exchange rate makes no difference to them on that bike.

I agree Aprilia bikes in general will go up because Ducati and Ktm's already have but rsv's are likely to go the other way. The longer the bike is out of production the more the dealers will want them off their showroom floor.

At £7995 or lower you would have to say it's already a great buy but if Taz have them at £7295 then that's even better. Unless you have a trade in ?
My own experience of trying to get one was it was always pro rata about the same. The lower the sale price the lower the trade in so what you actually paid was about the same.

Kiwi, Taz have the 'R' version at £7295 OTR, the Factory version is listed at £8495 OTR.

As Spoonz has said, they're not making any more of these bikes so it's unlikly that they will go up in price but as the weather warms up I think it might be harder to get such a good deal as people turn their thoughts to biking in warm weather again. In my experience it's also true that the better the price to get on the bike the less you get in trade-in. If you can't get them to budge on the price of the new bike get them to throw in some kit or accessories...there's a bigger mark up on these items so the dealer can afford to be more generous.

Ta fellas, yes it the r factory version im drawn too, did really want the white/black colour scheme, but saw the r factory in show room, and with all the upgrades, just got to have that one! Was onto dealer y.day, hes getting back to me with a deal, so i presume anything under the £7995 tag is a bonus. Thanx for advice, regards terry
