I've got a shorty brake and a regular clutch. Best of both worlds, IMO...

I think Il get one of those replacement evo clutch cyl. Hopefully itl be easy enough to use with the shorty levers.. If not Il have the strongest hand in the world after a few k... :crazy

Well, it's not just the effort of actuating a standard clutch with a shorty lever, it's a matter of precision... think about it, if you shorten the lever, you reduce the circumference of the total travel at the end of the lever. Less travel = less precision when engaging the clutch.

Just my 2 cents...

Hmmm.. very good point... Anyone with a shorty clutch have issues?

Nope.

Precision? :dunno really don't understand what you mean.

I have no issues at all with the clutch or brake with short levers. If you are buying CRG you can get stock length that look almost identical.

I have shorty Pazzo levers - almost identical to CRG, and stock length Pazzo's on my wife's Tuono, she doesn't have the same strength in her hands. It doesn't change the amount of effort as that depends upon where you place your fingers - and I have always used the bit nearest the master cylinder.

Gearchanges aren't an issue, I only use the clutch to set off and for downchanges, if you sort the overall gearing ratios - smaller front sprocket etc. you don't need to ride the clutch through town.

I agree with V60Paul on this one.... who uses there little finger on there levers? I always use two..ahem fingers any way. Anyone here got cables??? Nope, did not think so. Stop being wet cats.

Bloody hell! anyone using all 4 fingers on the front brake must be very brave (or currently in Hospital ) thems only need 2 at the most to lock the front if you aint carefull.

Had to put up a pic of my exhaust.... God damn its sexy!

don't get this: http://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=953 ........it leaks. you don't want dirt sucked into your engine.

Since you are going for the best get this one instead. It's well worth it in the long run:
http://www.ironbite.de/html/airbox_ring_tuono_2006-_.html

Seals perfectly. Then use a high flow filter like the EVO one.

Hard plastic and foam but very good quality and workmanship. Yes, I have it and NO dirt gets by it.

The Aprilia RSV mille/R, RSV1000R/Factory and the Tuono have a comparably small airbox. The airbox volume (clean air, behind the air filter) should be sized approximately ten times the engine´s displacement. That would be ten litres at the Aprilia 1000cc V2 models. The engine needs this airbox volume to get always the maximum air for a good combustion. Because of package compromises in the motorcycle´s design the optimal airbox volume is hardly realized. To increase the original airbox volume you could replace the serial airbox top cover by our airbox ring. In addition to this it is necessary to remove the sound reduction mat under the tank. Thereby it is possible to increase the airbox volume about 1 to 1.5 litre depending on the motorcycle type. The gained airbox volume is a result of the removed airbox top cover and the removed noise reduction mat. A benefit to this is also a more characteristic engine intake sound.

For best durability and safety the fixing screws are undetachably integrated in the airbox ring. So the engine never can intake detached screws. The serial air filter and the good sealing to the tank underside guarantee the same clean air qualitiy as the serial configuration. Further the ram air effect still exists in contrast to other airbox modifications on market without a complete sealing to the tank underside.

Ahem... did you not get the part where I mentioned having a SHORTY brake lever? :kicknuts Jeebus, any more than 2 fingers (hell, ONE in most cases) and you'd absolutely be on yer a$$ :crazy

v60pau...uh fatbastar... I mean, uh... never mind :eek I agree with you that a down-geared T should not need much clutch action, but I like a tall geared beast, and have only gone down 1 tooth in the front. Still need a fair bit of clutch feathering to get off the line.

YMMV

Hey mountlocal, fancy meeting you here too. No, I had my best friend who lives in Munich buy it and send to me as the shipping was much cheaper.

Yeah those prices were bloody horrible! Il look into it closer to getting the bike... :cheers

Hi there, not tried with those cans but £450 sounds about right. I spent that on my '03 T in 2003.

i had pazzo shorties on the rsv i had before the tuono. didnt really notice a difference in difficulty to use over the standard levers. they are nice to use though. feel really nice in your hands and i thought the feel from the front brake was awesome. will deffo get a set for the tuono after i have shelled out for the first big service which is due in about 300 miles. if the weather holds that should be by next week. that'll be £300 to £400 i'll never see again. not really used to paying for services as i have always done the jap stuff myself.
