Hi guys. Riding home from work today, and suddenly service appears on my dash and red service light comes on. The spanner has been on for a a couple of hundred miles, but only done 2k since I bought her (second hand) and it was serviced when I bought it but shop obviously didn't reset the spanner light. But what to do now? Book her into the garage for a diagnostic? Did the light come on coz the spanners been lit for some time? She rides perfectly, but I'm now concerned I may be hurting her.
Advice please.

you can reset the service light yourself
once in the diagnostic section you can read any DASH fault codes.
to get in there the access code is 12412
to reset the service spanner its called 'reset coupon'

Done all that, but service on dash and red light still on. No fault codes showed up.
Any more advice anyone.
Next step will be book into garage and get her plugged in.

Could be the oil pressure sensor but i thought that would give a dash error.
Might be worth buying the diagnostic cable and using Guzzidiag / IAW before going to the dealer....unless its still under warranty from the shop you bought it from.
I have the cable from Lonelec, Fault Code Readers & ECU Diagnostic Equipment and its great....£20 well spent for bikes like these.

Thanks genman. Went out earlier and light went out. Did 30 miles and all ok. Got a mile from home and light on again. I wonder if it is something simple like oil pressure sensor??
Guzzidiag may well be the way to go.

If nothing else , having the cable and software allows the throttle to be recalibrated......if like most yours is a snatchy off/on closed throttle in T mode then the learning process makes a great improvement.
