additional injector mod / Winter plans

Some one mentioned a RSV4 additional injector mod for the Tuono V4, any one done this or know anything more about it?

Im starting my list of jobs for the winter. So far I have the RSV4 tail to do and also looking into if the bigger 2014 tank will fit the earlier model. Also have a US spec side stand coming.

Any other ideas welcome. :thumbup

Gabro over on Aprilliaforum.com has done it.

It needs the RSV4 loom too. I'm sure he used RSV4 cams as well.

Just a thought but rather than change injectors, swapping looms etc etc would it not be better to just buy an early damaged RSV4 and turn it into a Tuono?. Top yoke change, straight bars, different gearing, remove the fairings = Job done AND it will be a weapon!

In fact I may just do this as my winter project (but still keep my TV4). Rob

I will probably get abuse for this but does the V4uono hot have enough power with a can and map

You can never have enough power :yes

Tuono has loads more torque than the RSV4 though and thats the most fun :banana

This is Gabros mates RSV4 Tuono V4 hybrid dyno stock and then modded which he did. :hail

This has tuono V4 cams (not the RSV4 ones) standard valves, full leo vince system, ported heads, RSV4 throttle bodies which as discussed needs the RSV4 engine loom (of which I have one for sale on ebay :thumbup) it also has the variable velocity stacks from the RSV4 Factory.

It then needs a different map on the ECU which in reality you will need to send to Gabro.

Interesting post Dan 180 bhp at the real wheel = NICE!

Do you know what front/rear sprockets hes running with it ? Just curious. Rob

Wow impressive stuff, defo food for thought. Might just go for the race ECU or try see if the dealer can unlock mine this winter. Unless you have the loom and throttle bodies up for sale Dan ;)

Not sure.......

Throttle bodies

Loom required

Then send your ECU to gabro to get the relevant map for the new configuration and he will put the RACE map on with his own tweeks, way better than the OEM race map :thumbup

Its not that hard, (not that I have done the mod myself, need to pay of crash damage first :no)

Interesting, debating if my bank can handle the abuse as Ive already spent heavy this month. May have to wait till October.

Looks like your missing some important parts there, dont think that will pass an MOT. You must of done a proper job there mate not good.

Nice cat.

That was just a strip down ready to take to frame straighteners to make sure if everything OK and for a valve check :thumbup

I think you would cry at the pics of it after the "big one".

At least it lives on. Nothing more painful then the sight of your bike down the road.

Anyone fitted the block off plates for the secondary air system? Is it worth doing?

Nope and I don't think I will bother as they are a pain in the hoop to get too.

What I will probably do is plug the hose that feeds them and also reroute the crankcase breather and vent it away from the airbox.

Yes done that, I originally just blocked the system with a couple of these:

Silicone Hose End Blanking Caps - Cap Off Bung Silicon Rubber Finisher Pipe Stop | eBay

They go over the metal plates on the cylinder and you need to block the clutch side entry to the airbox.

Made no noticuble odds but you need this removed if you want to a PC3 dyno run for A/F.

I then removed the SAS system from under the TB's when I had to take the TB's off, however you need the RACE ECU or it will throw an error if you remove the whole gubbins.

Looks like an easier way of doing it rather than changing the whole plate. Dan you are a man of great knowledge regarding tunning the TV4 :hail

When you crash it as much as I do you have to do ALOT of reading :lol

:lol I try not to crash anymore tends to get expensive. :yes

Parts are starting to pile up now for winter.

RSV4 back end
RSV4 Throttle bodies
RSV4 Loom (Cheers Dan) :thumbup
Been in contact with Gabro for my ECU
US sidestand

Just need variable velocity stacks and block off plates.

Also looking at quick action throttle and maybe a gel seat. Role on Spring :lol

Defo having seconds thoughts about selling that loom now :p :biggrin

Good luck, by the way buy 4 suzuki bergman throttle body clamps costs about £30 but allows you to remove the TB clamps easier as the OEM clamps are a royal pain in the arse! trust me.

bergman are top in pic oem are bottom.
