You mean an Abba stand and you'll still need to lift the front - take the belly pan off an use a jack. They are well worth investing in.

thats the name abba only need to use it to do the head bearings so it would be easier to borrow one i have a jack to lift the front

Can't find it now but AMB67 built himself a 'wooden' abba stand that worked OK. Or hang it from your garage roof if it's strong enough.

To the OP: Just be careful if you`re looking to buy an Abba stand off ebay matey, only because the second-hand ones are fetching too much money, if you know what I mean.

ie: say you buy one off ebay for £60; okay, sounds good initially, as they`re a few pence short of £97 if you buy one direct from Abba, but then add typical P+P of £15 to your sixty, then add the cost of the fitting kit (unless you`re lucky enough to find someone selling a stand INCLUDING your kit), which is £18.50 (to buy a kit only, without stand), and you`re looking at £93.50.

If that`s the equation, then you may as well buy new........:dunno

Okay, if you can collect, and don`t incur any P+P, and you already have a fitting kit for your bike, then yes, the £60 is a good price, but just be wary......:thumbup

look ok i was thinking of using axlestands on the crash bungs will have to measure the height first how stable was it and did the new head bearings make a diff , mine feels like the steering is solid on slow turns somtimes and when i had the forks done was told with no weight on they were very notchy
