Usually at the top of the apple tree.
Lookin to do the Transalpina and some of the other passes in the Carpathian Mountains this coming summer.

I've more or less ruled out the fly/ride options and jist wondered if abod here has done a trip from the UK to Romania.

Any tips or info wid be much appreciated. :thumbup
 
It is f, 1800 miles to where I'd be based, think Sibiu would be ideal.

A lot of mway stuff as well.
 
Rode down to Venice many moons ago.... fair bit of motorways + a few mountain passes etc... seemed to take forever....

Take it in ya van or chuck it on the train at dussledorf and down to verona....
Save a pair of tyres and a shed load of motorway.... and gas...

f, Verona would be to far south.

I was thinking about crossing through the tunnel and go Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary and into Romania.

Cheers fir the van suggestion I'll need to look at the pros and cons of using it, could always kip in the back on the way there and back and widnae need to bother about strapping luggage on.

Thing is I do like riding ma machine a whole lot better than driving ma van.
 
plus one on the van idea !!! , that's my plan for the next euro tour . espesh after 2018 summer trip disaster !!! ,or at the very least get some proper euro breakdown and recovery cover !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

the luggage thing is a reet pita !! I now use reusable BIG cable straps !!! no more bungees and ratchet straps .:thumbup
 
Forgot to mention.... you can also get off the train at Innsbruck.....

Not done it tho....

Maybe use it one way ?
