Abba stand or Paddock

Thanks mate have emailed that bloke. I am also bidding on an Aprilia RS50 at the mo for my boy!:wheelie

Nice one BS good luck with it :thumbup

how old's your boy and is it his first bike ? like father like son with the Aprilia eh :biggrin

Abba or paddock

I have both, but the Abba is by far the best and is the one I use the most (as in 99.9%). It makes it very easy to clean the bike and do maintenance.

As for oiling the chain, suggest you get a Scottoiler. All my bikes in the past 10 years have had one and for good reason. Easy to fit, extends life of chain, self cleaning, no sticky goo everywhere, makes the bike live with wheelies etc much better.

Cheers nutter :biggrin and welcome to the forum :thumbup

I think I'm going for the Abba route, and may look at a scottoiler when the pennies are more freeflowing :thumbup

My thoughts on Scott Oilers, 1) it gets flung all over the bike. 2) Lubing the chain ensures I regularly check the tension and inspect the chain 3) Could go wrong and then you're running a dry chain

Nothing against Oilers, just my thoughts :dunno

Thanks - just jopined the forums as I picked up my RSV last weekend - a Bol D'Or special with 400 miles on it, 5 months old plus carbon Akrapovics, ignition remap etc. Just need some decent weather now!

Annyone want to buy an R6?! I now have the luxury of 2 bikes in my garage (much to my wife's disapproval!)

You should start a new thread and introduce yourself mate...let everyone know your here :thumbup

I use a headstock stand (I have a Biketek stand) and I found that a 20mm pin (actual dia - machined down from 21mm) is too big. I had to turn this down to an actual dia of 19.5mm.

Welcome rsvNutter!! I'm not sure whether you're the Bol D'or owner I said welcome to the other day or yet another. If you're another that will make 4 of us on here with D'or's, we'll be able to start our own site soon!! :thumbup

I have always used front and rear paddock stands but just got abba for xmas i like it better than the paddock stands, only problem with the abba is that it's too wide to use when the bike is on the lift

I've just been outbid on e-bay for an abba stand, it went for £73 + £13 postage  I could buy a brand new one with adaptors for the mille for £97 :confused do people ever look to see the cost of new stuff or what :jack

Often thought that myself Sprocker. Whenever I start bidding on anything, not that often, I set myself a limit. Lots of people seem to pay almost the new price, which as you say, seems ridiculous.
