right then boys,
i'm looking at a swing arm to replace the peice of tat on my bike but it is off a 2001 model, anyone know if it will fit my 1999 model??:dunno

yeah should be a straight swap ...they are all the same...how bad is your old swing arm..might be interested..got a project up my sleeve :devious

Yeah, swing arms are the same, if I remember rightly it was the length of the dog bone links that differed.

Don't forget to overhaul the bearings when you change it over.

yep thats right fella

After recently fitting a 2002 arm to my 2000, I can confirm they do swap. However, there are 2 different linkage setups (the triangle sideplates and dogbone are both different). From what I can work out, the linkage depends on whick shock you have so you'll need to retain the original linkage from the bike. Another word of warning is that the needle bearings in the arm and linkage are uncaged so they can fall out when you remove the sleeves for greasing.

thanks guys for the words of wisdom, just need to win it now:thumbup

redrat, if i get it i'll send you a pic of mine:thumbup

:thumbup top man

Another thing to remember is the exhaust collector has to come off and the rear downpipe has to be loosened and one of the 13mm nuts is a mare to get at :rant

I'll give that a hell yes! Knuckle-jointed socket set required or fleible screw-driver type attachment, or much swearing and scars. :angry
