1) has anyone noticed that there is a major difference in having a steering damper or not? in particular in the twisties, is there a noticible difference? and any recommendations on brands? or will i do fine without it?

2) anyone with carbon fiber also have carbon fiber cans? which carbon fiber cans actually come the closest to matching the carbon fiber print that Aprilia uses (e.g. arrow or some other kind)?

3) is it worth getting the alarm system or is it more of an electrical nightmare whereas strange "things" happen (e.g. vehicle stalls, or won't start, etc)?

thank you all
peace

Doc, you should be fine without it, if you do get a bit of headshake and are not comfortable with it, fit an ohlins steering damper as they are standard fitment on the factory.

Akrapovic or Arrow carbon cans are very good quality carbon cans.

Akrapovic hexagonal available in titanium/carbon or all carbon

The alarm is for your peace of mind. The RSVR comes with a factory fit immobilizer as standard fitment. Alarm systems such as Datatool and Meta are fine, it's usually the incorrect or poor fitment that causes the problems.

Im not sure if you have got the bike yet Doc buyt my advice would be to wait until you get used to the bike first and build up to the point where it becomes apparant that you may need one ie she starts shaking her head... ps I have one fitted on mine but i have her wound right down so its like not having one fitted...its been fine so far but that might be a different story on the track...

Plus having bought mine only in October I am probably nowhere near that confident on her especially with the weather etc..

Hope this helps

Ti is better than cF for can sleeves (imo), sunlight and the power pulses from the engine can damage them. I can squeeze CF can sleeves but not my Ti one
dont fit an alarm unless yer insurers insist on it.
Steering dampers will help if you sit back in the seat alot or ride bumby roads.
Ohlins, hyperpro or the trick Scotts rotary dampers are good.
Aprila carbon weave is not the std weave which I think is 5mm. Aprilia is a bit bigger you would have to lookey see to match up patterns.

I know when my ti akra need repacking because A- its fekin loud and B- the hotspots created start to melt the sticker!!!. Cant imagine what that would do to the carbon sleeve though! The great thing about Ti, is once you get it really hot(thtrashing it about) it goes a lovely blue colour then white! Looks Pukka race jobbie!

doc, yes the rear seat hump is removeable and a rear pillion seat clips in it's place. You get the pillion seat with the new bike
