Brought the bike to the shop yesterday. The service tech explained finding a front wheel sensor error and a rear wheel sensor error, and one other error that he could not reset. The bike started/ran without issue, but he wanted to further diagnose the remaining error, so at the dealer it remains. Still no explaination as to why the bike did not go into limp home mode, as described in the manual.
URGENT SERVICE ALARM
A serious abnormality is signaled by the
rapid flashing (two flashes a second) of
the general alarm warning light, and by
alternation of the words URGENT and
SERVICE on the digital display. Visit an
Authorized Aprilia Dealer as soon as
possible. In these cases, the electronic
control unit will activate a security procedure,
which limits vehicle performance,
while still allowing the possibility of bring-
ing the vehicle to an Authorized Aprilia
Dealer. Based on the type of abnormality,
performance may be limited in two ways:
a) reducing the maximum possible gear
available; b) keeping the engine at a
slightly increased idle speed (during this
operation, the throttle lever is deactivated).
