hello all, only had my 2008 factory for a week and love it to bits.it only has 1700 miles but im noticing problems when going from 2nd to 3rd (when caning it !!) Anybody else had this ? Change of oil maybe ?
Its bog standard apart from 1 tooth smaller front sprocket.

hi david...welcome to the madhouse mate..

i reckon the teccys on here will need better discription of the "problem" itself .
you havent explained what it is or isnt doing...:cheers
and did u get it private ..or a dealer ?? if the latter.....take it back ?

cheers chris, bit vague i know but basically its tough to get into 3rd when givin it some ! its not jumping out or anything, just wondered if it was a common complaint or not. Bought privately but no too bothered as still plenty of warranty left !! Only ridden it twice and it was bloody freezing both times

hhmm to be honest mate...not heard of many gearing probs at all ...
shub be nice and smooth...worth investigating deffo...:dunno

My T ssometimes takes a good shove when canning it. it may get easier as the miles go up and it beds in with use

cheers chaps, cant wait for some better weather so i can put some miles on it.could just be me being new to it,its a bit different to my duke st4 !

Gotta be buch with the box sometimes ???. Make it have it.

Check the clutch fluid, is it black?
If so drain and fill with clean .
After a while the brake fluid will go black , (normal) this in turn stops the fluid working propery.
(If struggling to find neutral change the fluid and after a while it gets easier)
I am thinking a change will help alleviate the gear change problem???

Failing this remedy loose the sandels and wear boots lol

Hmmmm aren't you suppost to keep the revs below a certain point while the engine beds its self in? As far as I know you can damage it if you blat it before its ready. No idea how long that could take or weither thats the prob but it could be something to bear in mind.

Sorry, but it is unlikely to be the clutch - it would be a ***** to get into neutral or first if the clutch was dragging. Changing the fluid is equivalent to bleeding the clutch, hence it cures some problems. The colour doesn't affect the clutch, my Tuoldo fluid was always black.

Tuono's/Milles shift clutchless on the way up the box better than they do using the clutch.

Check your chain tension - too tight does make gear changes awkward.

Given the low mileage - it is only just run-in, I would suggest you just live with it a bit. The Engine/Gearbox on my Tuoldo only really felt fully loosened up after 8-10k

Worst case scenario you have a weak detent spring on your gearbox selector.
It's a £2 part, but probably a dealer fit.
