2nd gear rattle/knock (2007 Tuono)

I'm riding a 2007 Tuono that is apparently the production re-release "2007.5".

Every time i accelerate after shifting into 2nd gear from 1st, i hear a rattle/knock on the left side of the engine. It doesn't rattle long. Usually about 3 clicks (metal on metal sound), "rat-a-tat-a" is about the gist of it.

Doesn't matter if I start the acceleration from 2000 RPM or 5000 RPM, the same rattle every time.

Anybody experience this? Any idea what it is, if its bad, and how to fix it if its bad?

Check chain run , adjustment and hook off front chain Spkt cover cover to look and check for chain close/rubbing anywhere, I get it in 3rd gear at low revs accelerating since I put 15t Spkt on!!!! So keep the rpm higher stops it clattering up a down?

when the rain stops, i'll get out and check all the other gears. i think i might have heard it in 3rd, but it occurs in 2nd every single time. I'll also double check the rpm range of the rattle. will update this weekend.

Def 3rd gear on mine , just tried it , prob depends on Spkt ratio it has , "keep rpm up"?

Alright I got the bike out. I am getting the rattle in 2nd if my starting rpm is below 5000. The rattle starts about 1 second after I roll the throttle. Then I hear 3 to 4 click/knocks. I got it to occur once in this, but I had to really try. I can't get the rattle to occur above 5500 rpm.
I checked my chain tension. I have 1 1/8" of play at mid length, so it's not loose.

Correction: I got it to occur once in 3rd gear, but I really had to try.
