Okay gents, the 2009 RSVR end cans.........will they fit a 2004 RSVR, without any modifications at all ?

Reason I ask is that mine are a touch marked (on my `04 model), and I`m thinking of changing them.

Yes, yes, I know some of you will think I`m mad for not banging on a set of Akras, or similar, but I just want to keep it looking as standard as I can, and would also like to stay road-legal (yes, I know I`m a boring git, before anyone else says it :biggrin)

From 2007 the cats were moved closer to the headers in the silencers to reduce warm up time but otherwise they are the same.

I don't see that the cat placement would have any impact on an 04 apart from running cleaner sooner.

I had Arrow road legal cans on mine, looked nicer, sounded better, road legal and a lot lighter. May be worth considering if you are thinking of buying new standard cans as I wouldn't think there would be much difference price wise and the Arrows may even be cheaper! :thumbup

Spoonz and Dave; thanks for the replies, both are helpful. :thumbup

Dave, you`ve got me thinking now. :devious

On the one hand, I want to keep it looking standard, as it does already (apart from the d/b screen).........and, although some may find this surprising, I actually like the look of the "brushed" finish on the cans, I think it looks good.

Also on the plus side is that there`s various sets of these going on ebay (just missed some this aft :rant) second-hand, but hardly used, if at all, and as such, they`re pretty cheap for a nice end can.

However, I know that some of the stuff on the market looks the business also, and would sound even better than standard, although I really want to stay road-legal ?

Anyway, if anyone else has any ideas/suggestions, or pics to hand of said end cans (grovel grovel :devious), I`d be grateful.........cheers.

The bike runs much sweeter without cats in the cans. If for no other reason that makes it worth switching but most aftermarket cans weigh about 75% less which is an added bonus.

You would pay £ thousands to lose that much weight any other way.

Sorry to bump this one up, but anybody else that can give me the definitive on whether, or not, the `09 cans will work on my `04 ?

There`s a set coming up on ebay in less than 24 hours, so I`m thinking of bidding on them ?
