hello all,

new to the forum, but on my second rsv, i had a collin edwards 2003, went japanese 1000s for few years and picked up a 2007 rsv1000 (orange/grey with a black frame)

my question is:

as i understand it, there were 2007.5 rsv' released, with silver unpainted frames and there were oval end caps of some sorts on the pipes, now there is a 2008, also with unpainted frame, supposedely changed rake and something else perhaps...

anyhow, i was simply curious as to how my 2007 bike possibly differs from the 2007.5 and/or 2008, which i also understand will be the last year aprilia will make them, since their 10 year deal with rotax is over...

any thoughts...

cheers,

eugene

Welcome fella, as far as i am aware the RSV's with the painted frames normally gold but some maybe black indicate that the bike is the factory model rather than the base model with silver frames, the factory's come with ohlins suspension and lots of nice carbon fibre things no performance benifits just added bling....:thumbup

if it makes any difference, i am in new york city, so i have a usa bound bike

and i know for sure it's not a factory, no ohlins rear, no gold bling frame, no damper and of course i didn't pay enough $ for a factory :)

2007, stock picture i found of the exact bike i have

neither are factory

Nypop, the American model RSVR's were a year behind the European models. Your bike shown in the first pic is a UK 2006 Model RSVR. The 2008 pic shows what we in the UK as a 2007 model. The 2008 model UK RSVR are shown here including the red/black model which seems to have been carried over
