Hi all, i went out yesterday on my new to me 07 rsv for the first proper length ride and you get a lot of heat coming up from under your legs, does anyone know if this is engine heat or exhaust heat and can i do anything about it? Cheers Rich

The first time I rode mine I noticed the heat felt on the lower parts of my legs was considerably more than I used to experience on my ZX6R. It's the combination of the rear exhaust header pipe being where it is and the cut of the fairings, that allows all the engine heat to ooze out on to your legs at a standstill.

You could always try wrapping your exhaust, to prevent heat loss, it may also prolong the life of your rear shock too.

when the fans come on they do blow very warm air up between your legs and the bike

ive an 08 and feels warmer around my arse when i ride?? twin exhausts/airflow could be a few reasons but doesnt get that hot its uncomfertable.

My RSVR doesnt get as hot under the bum as my ducati 748 used to get, that was proper warm :)

I just finished wrapping my exhaust and it does make a difference. The blast of hot air from the fans is even more noticeable now. ;>
Pictures to follow.
