Hi everybody just bought a 2005 rsv factory when i start it up after a few seconds i get a burning smell and smoke coming from under tank anybody know if this is serious thanks
hi I would get the tank off and have a look under there. no way of knowing without having a look.make sure you syphon off the fuel if theres lots in it.

If you join you can use the search function. Burning could just be an oil leak from the rocker cover gasket, easy to fix. If it is charging related you will need £500 plus to fix (see listing above)
The other site is aprilia.me Forums which is british based and run by the best aprilia service option, they go on the road and know all the foibles of gen 1 and gen 2. Once you get the bike running better these are the best handling v twin ever made ! Great value , with italian noise and character. A picture would be nice, they really are great bikes once sorted .

If you have just cleaned it or it has stood for some time, it maybe steam or other fluid/dust burning off. if the smoke or gas is realy strong then lift the tank and have a look, else run it a bit longer and see if it stops.
