Had a customers bike doing this for awhile .... I ended up bypassing the sidestand switch after trying alot of different things & now done it hasn't stopped since , worth looking into .. Thats not to say it is your problem as there are alot of other stuff that can course cutting out but the sidestand is a easy fix to start with .

Hi sensei have you ever heard of this problem of cuttin out and at the same time the neutral light flickering on at the same time?

Neutral light flinkering sounds like the the unit / wiring has a fault & is shorting out as if the bike is in neutral hence the light coming on & off even though it is gear .. as above there can be afair few different things that can make the bike cut out ..... I was lucky to find the sidestand fault on customers bike but spent along time going through alot of other stuff to sort it tho ..

Bryan, have you tried bypassing the sidestand switch to cure your problem?. It could well be related to the neutral light flickering. How did your auto electrics buddy get on with yer bike, find anything?.

There is a guide with pictures here :-

http://www.apriliafutura.co.uk/v2/workshop/fixing/82-side-stand-switch-bypass.html

It's for a Futura but it is exactly the same set up on an RSV.

To bypass switch:-

If you just want to totally bypass the whole lot, its easy.

Remove left hand side panel under tank. Follow wire from kickstand up to the block connector near the framespar and undo.

Take two small spade connectors and a very short piece of wire.

Look at the kickstand switch block connector. You will see three terminals.

Connect up the two outermost terminals with the aforementioned piece of wire and spade connectors. Thats it bypassed, but be aware, you will not get any warning of the stand being down via the dash light.

Hi Gary my pals got it the noo and he's pretty sure its electrical in nature he's taking it to bits and checking every connection on the bike and fixing as he goes,he also knows a guy that can check and fix the dash so fingers crossed i'll get the bike back wi indicators that work too, took the bike up to saltire suzuki before i dropped it at ma pals they said they could tell me wot was wrong with it for nothing, all they did was give me a list of stuff they thought needed looked at and didn't even mention the power cutting oot....

You do the side stand my way you still have the bypass done but leaves the dash warning light that the side is down !!!!

Id dare bet thats the one Sensei! I had the same problem but it would only cut out doing left turns. I bypassed the switch and all was fine there on in (The 1st mille I had)
