i have a chance to buy a 01 really nice and cheap but i now ride a cbr 954rr. i have heard these bikes are slow compaired to the jap 1000's, anyone know the horsepower of these things? and anyone ever compair it to a suzuki tl1000r in power and handeling? thanks

Lots on here come from owning Blades and R1's, take it out for a spin and then you'll know why :thumbup horsepower aint everything :pirate

And welcome to the zone :devious

is it about 109hp and 68lbs torque? i owned a tl1000r (liked it) had enough power only issue was it was heavy

Probably 115-120+ for the older models with 70+ torque but more knowledgeable owners on here will be able to tell you more accurately. I think the TL's are much heavier bikes than the mille. I've never ridden one so can't comment on comparisons with the mille :dunno

Got any pics or details of your prospective buy :dunno

the mille and tl are worlds apart-rode a tl1000r for a bit and it was flippin hard work.the mille is much better-go for it:thumbup

Hi, I was in the notion to change a few year ago from a 2001 tl1000 to an RSV millie, took the millie for a run and loved it, its a lot lighter than the TL and goes really well. As a result i bought the 03 millie and couldnt bear to part with the TL so I still have both bikes and ride them turn about. The torque of the v twin is fantastic, go ahead buy the RSV, they got sole man !

I had a 954 and went to a Mille! Never looked back, far more fun and has character.
I'd say that Mille is worth no more than £3k max though.
Mine (03) has 120RWHP and 73Ftlbs, they are "more useable" in the real world than a high revving IL4 but I have to say the 954 with an ohlins on the rear is a fine handling bike.
