2001 RSV Mille dipped and main not working

Firstly I modded the light switch, soldering a bridge wire between dipped and main beam shown in the mods section for all 3 lights to come on together
Nice one getting your problem sorted :thumbup
I done the dipped beam mod the easy way -
Well that is a way of doing it.
I am not over keen on messing around with the loom.
I have myself achieved the same by soldering a diode from the high beam relay to the low beam relay (cathode side of the diode on the low beam + coil side of the relay and Anode side on the + coil side of the High Beam relay).
The benfit of this is that it is reversible in minutes and also means you don't have to mess around with the loom. (I have got some pictures somewhere and will try and post them up).
Oh and I have also since fitted a HID kit, if you fit a HID kit this mod is essential as the HID light unit takes time to fire up and this could be potentially dangerous as when the high beam is switched off it will take a few seconds for the low beam to come to full brightness.
Pete :thumbup
Ive still got a load of diodes and ill post a couple to anyone wanting some :thumbup

TBH the job was not very hard at all I already had taken the broken switch off and soldering the bridge wire between high and low+ was a doddle I took the actual switching part out of the casing and GENTLY clamped it in the vice to keep it steady whilst soldering, hardest part was puting the switch controls back together as it is tight and fiddly................and this high low mod you do not touch the loom anyway??????:confused

I only touched the loom for the main lights off/on mod as I my switch was the lights on permanently type..............:biggrin
