I've been racing at the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials for 6 years (a nitrous boosted 1962 Honda). This year I put race fairings on the RSV Mille that has been my street bike for many years and gave it a trial run. Being the bike's first run on the salt I took it easy to see how the bike would handle the surface and crosswinds - taking it up gradually to about 90% throttle. Speed over the timed mile was 141mph. Speed at mile entry about 135mph, exit speed 147mph. Certainly there is much more to be had. Plan is to return next year with some mods including nitrous, and test. If that shows promise we will shoot for an FIM world record for 1000cc twins in 2026.
At the moment the bike is pretty stock - race fairings, Futura shifter for GP shift, Akra muffler and other minor parts changes
