2000 RSV - R Twin Seat Conversion

Hi, What items EXACTLY do I need to convert my 2000 RSV - R to a twin seat. Im after a shopping list really here... What happens about the seat locking mechanism? And will I be able to use the old single seat pod once ive done it? Thanks!

Have you taken off the rear cowl to see if you can put a seat on it?

Yeah - There is nothing there, plus there is no mounting holes in it for a left side rear peg....

you can use the existing locking mechanism to rear bodywork bracket it needs slightly modifying...once you swap subframes it all becomes clear..there is a proper part listed for the dual seat subframe but 5 mins with a vice and hacksaw and mine was ok to use.

dont forget though your rear shock is only designed to take around 80kg....

The rear shock is the same standard or original.

manual says different springs are used and weight capacities differ. its all in the book, you can get it online i think at aprilia.com?

just had a look, it givs a max weight for rsv of 180kg and rsvr around 100kg. i guess it wouldnt make too much difference if ur missus is pint sized!
