2 Weeks into Mille ownership & just Binned it, pls Help!

I hate that im having to write this, I bought a mint 2001 Mille 2 weeks ago & absolutely love it. Its my first V-twin after a world of 4’s and its just intoxicatingly brilliant.

So decided to go out for a ride today - a very enjoyable hour later im pootling down a lane 1mile from home, when the car in front decided that the gap ahead is not big enough & stops dead.

I grab the anchors, front gives a little chirp on the damp road, I catch it, but now the cars too close, more front and splat! I feel the front wash out and down I go. 10mph max, but im still on the floor.

A nice jogger, stops to help me pick her up (he’s confused that im laughing - cos I realise what an utter **** I am and how stupid ive just been. well it was either laugh or cry & im not the crying type)

So what have I done… ive not cracked any farings, but given them a good scratching too.

• The front top airduct on the left side is scratched
• Left side faring, completely scratched & the decals
• Tail scratched on the left side too.
• Both front indicators & left rear indicator smashed
• Gear shift snapped
• Left wing mirror snapped.

Thankfully all the mechanics/frame/etc are fine, I restarted her & rode home (in 4th cos I cldnt change any more)

So I need help – any one out there have access to or know where I can get any of the bits I've knackered, cos I'm going to fix her asap & get straight back out on the road.

(PS General messages of Sympathy or piss taking welcome, I know many of you have been here & its not a fun place. I'm off to cry/laff into my pint now)

Ditto, i've lost concentration too many times doing that.
What colour fairings you got on your bike?

Aye my last couple involved me doing everything right approaching a known crappy roundabout well everything. Except turn and at the previous roundabout 2 months later some nice lady tried to drive over me only bits I've got is some of those funny shaped side infil panels in silver that you odd Mille folk have and some carbon type indicator jobbies Luik dated but ... Anyway the most important bit didn't get broke

Should have said, she's a 2001 Matt black.

Had a look last night, the side decals have taken most of the hit, but I still have scratches on the plastic too

Can you get decent aftermarket indicators or do they look a bit ****? Cos it's only those and the gear leaver that stopping it being rideable.

There are some fairing panels top back and sides matt black, on ebay right now.

EDIT - Just seen old date on post... leaving the reply anyway for others.

i have a 2002 tail, in black & grey inc hump - a (99) tail in that lovely red/orange inc hump, i have a set of sides in red (99) an indicator and a mirror (need to check which side its for)
For other members: i have a 99 sub-frame, belly pan in silver (99) (matches the tail and sides) i have a rear light set inc the grey bezel (99) front light (99) and the Blue/purple original steal tank (99) again part of the matching set. Also have a set of grey fans too. (was going to list as a job lot, but may split)

Finally i have an original exhaust too.

Strange that the.post is soo old?? If Op isn't interested then I have a deep scratch in my tail :devious from dropping in the yard. I've tarted it up canny but could be interested in yours Darren if it's the right unit? Mine ie black with silver and white decal with a bit of red in there. Silver 2002 mille?
