Hi everyone.
I just created a problem with my 03 aprilia tuono 1000.
I was out riding around town yesterday when on route home i stopped at cashpoint.
I pulled up, stopped engine ( like i had bin doin all day ).
I started bike all ok, but as soon as i changed into 1st gear the engine stopped?
I have had problems where i've had put me bike on charge ( battery just over a year old ) a night b4 a ride. The bike then will start ( sometimes a little struggle, but will start ). Maybe battery problem, or an electrical problem.
Could anyone places advise me?

Great intro, !!

Welcome to the forum.

I'd suggest drawing some more cash out the cashpoint and booking it in with a mechanic. :thumbup

I love a good intro :banghead I agree with the side stand switch :yes
welcome to the forum
do yourself a favour and stick up an intro mate, always helps and the same goes for you Poncho in sunny Margate :yes

Thanks all for fast answer. And yes I did post this question twice, first time user to this forum, I'm like a virgin writer.
And when i get home ill hava look see.
And Wots with the intro??

Seems to be a few Kent boys getting into the Tuonos lately, mind you they are generally a few years behind down there anyway :fingerlol Rob

Hi.
Thanks all for your advice.
Problem was side stand switch ta da!
I got the back up, wheel off ground, engine started, clutch in, into gear, cuts out.
2nd go... All the same process, stand up..... And off we go.
So thanks all. Switch now ordered.
And seeing that i was down in the area. I've decided to fit some rather f**kin loud air horns to me belly pan. :megaphone
Bcoz the 03 standard horn are rather feeble. But now them cars'l will notice me :fooku

Wot was prob
Mate,...its forum etiquette to introduce yourself first before jumping in with the questions.

So,..well done for finding the problem,...although I found your post a little confusing. Why did the wheel need to be off the ground,...and if you put it in gear with the stand down,it will cut out.Stand up and it will run. That is correct.
Or am I missing something?

KB you are correct as that is a very confusing post :crazy methinks the switch is okay and the problem was the side stand being down :dunno
