180???

Me too (I've got a 180). I believe some people fit wider tyres (190) but there can be issues with chain clearance.

Rob :)

On my old rsv i had 180 & 190 's fitted, both 55 profile no issues with bridgeston or michelin power 1's

The 180 is absoloutely fine. It gives a quicker turn in than the 190, is cheaper to buy, and the difference tyre contact patch wise is virtually bugger all.
Just get summat sticky in there, job done. :D:

Aprilia manual says either can be used but i know for a fact that on my 2002, a 190/50 17 is the standard size (currently have a 180 2ct as the 190 2ct rubs the chain a little. New front and 190 rear DC3's on saturday though, woo hoo!

I wonder why? Every 1000cc i have seen has 190..........strange

Just noticed you live in Pompey too, d'you go up Portsdown Hill or Loomies at all?

Oh yeah, the tyres, I may be wrong but I think the rubbing issues are manly with Michelins as I think they come out a bit wider than other makes, I'm sure my 180 2ct is wider than my new 190 DC3, but like I say, I might be wrong.

Hi fog, yes mate used to go all the time but i have been off the road
15Months!!!!!!!!!! But she will be back next month. Ill keep an eye out for you

I had 190s fitted to both my zx7r and rsvr originally, but changed both to 180/55 and much preferred it. The bike reacts a little quicker and is therefore more fun to ride if slower speed twisties are you thing. On the other hand, if a top top end thrash is what gives you a twitch on then stick with the 190s.
