Me too (I've got a 180). I believe some people fit wider tyres (190) but there can be issues with chain clearance.

Don't know. User + Maintenance guide for 2001 lists various back tyres, both 180/55 or 190/50, depending on tyre make/model.

Just noticed you live in Pompey too, d'you go up Portsdown Hill or Loomies at all?
Oh yeah, the tyres, I may be wrong but I think the rubbing issues are manly with Michelins as I think they come out a bit wider than other makes, I'm sure my 180 2ct is wider than my new 190 DC3, but like I say, I might be wrong.

I had 190s fitted to both my zx7r and rsvr originally, but changed both to 180/55 and much preferred it. The bike reacts a little quicker and is therefore more fun to ride if slower speed twisties are you thing. On the other hand, if a top top end thrash is what gives you a twitch on then stick with the 190s.
