15-42 sprockets

have just been looking through some of the forum threads reading about suggested sprocket combinations. 15 - 42 seems to be what the old heads reccomend. What are they like on a long run. I'm going to Assen Weds is there any point in changing before i go.

I'd wait till yer got back.With the lower gearing you will be constantly looking for 7th on those long straight roads.

Absolutely...gotta be done, transforms the bike...but wait until ye get back as KB min says...two reasons..aye ye will be aye lookin fur a 7th gear and secondly fuel economy...ah wid say its dropped me aboot 10 mile a tank in range..an wi a Tuono that matters if yer daein the long distances!

yes it does take away some fuel economy but, gives grins in return.

**** the waiting. The only difference I noted was I tapped out at 245ish in sixth instead of fifth gear. Who the **** really needs that kind of top end? The low end giddy up made a HUGE improvement to the legal speed fun, especially with my svelte 20 st. Nike.
