Hiya guys,

My 1st post, by the way.

I've ordered a new 1100 Factory with delivery due mid September.
However I read that Aprilia are planning to add a full auto-blip to the bike for later this year.
Their excuse is that they were running behind.

I have no history with Aprilias.
How likely is it they will include it later this year when they get back from holidays or will it be an add on option to delivered bike?

The dealer wants me to take a test ride to confirm the order after having paid a deposit but would be pissed if they announce the full auto blip system after delivery with no option to add on, after trying the system on a 1299S.

Regards

What's auto blip? Is that a gearbox change feature to assist with down shifts? Does it really help?

Indeed. Auto-blipper works on closed throttle, just downshift, no clutch.

Piero Soatti from Aprillia RnD said 'we are working on it. We have the technology it's on the Superbike racer. But we are behind in bringing this to the street., though it will follow later this year. '

It would likely just be a software change and a replacement gearshift sensor.

Regarding to the wiring diagram the harness has still only two wires for the quick shifter and not three which would be good for a two way shifter.
If they will bring really an auto-blipper in the next future, there is a little more work to do on the bike than just software and shift-sensor change [emoji19]

Maybe I'm a boring old fart, but I've only just got my head around no clutch up shifts. I'm going to have real trouble if no clutch downshifts come on line as the norm....Might as well get a sit on the couch simulator at this rate..LOL..

I'm old too, just got my 2015 Factory. Funny thing I've always done clutchless ups and downs on my old Japanese and motocross bikes. Now the ups are a problem for me cause I can't help rolling the throttle off between shifts, and that doesn't work to well.

...LOL...they do seem to turn to **** trying that..

hopefully it can be retro fitted!

Tested this function out on an MW Dragster RR 800 and it worked outstanding!

I take it bikes built from factory when they reopen next week will have this function as standard?
