guess its just a case of steady and dont get sucked in. got a couple of mates going aswell, all new to tracks. might have to book myself a session before we go so I don't get imtimidated by them. all better riders than me.

when we went to the isle of man this year, I thought I was going ball n all and riding very well until I kept getting left behind by zx7 and gsxr 6's.

anyof you guys want to teach me to ride lol

I just can't wait now. should be good. worried im going to get the bug too lol

You cant do worse than me - come off after the session finished. On only my 2nd day of riding the RSVR:eek:

Addictive! Yeah I kno what thats like. I wne to ISle of man three weeks before the TT this year for the first time. WOW. what a long weekend. Going again next year.

Fell in love with the mountain road :). Over took a police car on my zx9 doing 140 :) and he waved lol:

That sounds quite entertaining, although are you sure he was saying hello? :grinning

Garvey squire, if you take a look at my thread previously about my trip to Cadwell this year that should give you a few ideas. I can also thoroughly recommend staying at the B&B as per the details I posted up. Hottrax are very good, well organised, and yes well worth the money :thumbup

On a side note, if you want to try out a track day prior to going that is a little closer to home, try Castle Coombe. I think they have finished doing them for this year, but no doubt they will be starting up again in the new year.

Garv, I meant to tell you. I talked to Castle Combe a few months back and the girl in the office gave me the contact details of the guy who does the noise checks. She said he would noise test my bike for me if i took it up there.
I'll try and find the details when I get into work on Monday.

i did my first 2 track days last year on a zx636r (sorry guys)..1st one did as everyone says take it easy etc etc..second track day went to see the instructors, got a 1to1 with a instructor, man what a difference, dropped into the 1.47's, 8 secs off my time around croft...get the instructors to take you out, ide have gone out with them every session if i could..its free!!!

Going to book some more but only croft is local..fancy cadwell..

Keep in mind gents that Castle Coombe test noise levels differently to other tracks in the country. At Coombe they'll ask you to hold 3/4 revs to measure the db from 1m away, whereas elsewhere (such as Hottrax/Focusedevents run events) they use the official ACU rules which are as follows;

2. Noise limit in force for all machines is a maximum of 105dB/A. For testing the fixed RPM specified in 6 below will be used.
3. The noise test will be conducted with the microphone placed at 50 cm from the exhaust pipe at an angle of 45° measured from the centre-line of the exhaust end and at the height of the exhaust pipe, but at least 20 cm above the ground. If this is not possible, the measurement can be taken at 45° upwards

Sports Production and Sports Production based engines:

1 cylinder 2 cylinder 3 cylinder 4 cylinder
Over 750cc (4-stroke) 4,500 RPM 5,000 RPM 5,000 RPM 5,500 RPM

Also keep an eye when booking as sometimes they lower the DB limit.

Good point Catapillar, thanks. I reckon it would have to be pretty loud not to pass from 1 mile away though. Don't know why they bother.
