Since mechanically the bike is back together, Ill do a little review of my fun.
Parts I bought
RSV4 APRC Center loom
RSV4 Upper injectors
RSV4 Air filter
(its slightly bigger)
RSV4 Variable velocity stacks
RSV4 Factory air box lid.
(normal RSV4 lid will work if your not adding the variable stacks)
Secondary air block off plates
(not needed unless you want to dyno your bike)
Intake manifold clamps x4
The strip down was pretty straight forward. I removed the airbox and velocity stacks.
Then started with the wiring loom, swapping one connector at a time to make sure I didn't miss any.
Where the loom passes under the water pipes in the V of the engine I found it easier to remove the pipes, they are only held in with 1 bolt each
Make sure you run all the wires in the same places as space is very limited and you will struggle to fit the fuel tank if the loom is not run correct.
When refitting the velocity stacks I used the original clamps on the stacks then the intake clamps with the screws on the engine side.
Just remember to connect the loom to the stacks before you fit them. (I didn't :banghead)
If you have bought the variable velocity stacks when refitting the airbox, I found it easier to fit all the screws in place to get the stacks and airbox lined up, then removed the screws again to fit the base plates for the stacks.
You can remove the motor at the top of the stacks to make it easier to fit, but make sure you refit the right way. The + sign goes with the indent.
If you buy the velocity stacks second hand make sure it includes the control box which sits under your seat.
The upper injectors bolt to the airbox lid, so when refitting the lid remember to connect the fuel line.
While doing my mods I did remove my secondary air system as the bike will be getting a custom map to fine tune Gabro's work. I fitted the block off plates which the rear one is a pain due to lack of space, alternatively just cap them off.
You will need to send your ECU off to Gabro to have the extras enabled. There has been a few instances when the clocks have needed flashed aswell. As a precaution I sent my clocks at the same time.
There is no need to split the wiring housing when removing the clocks as the last mount just slides out.
All in all it has been pretty straight forward nothing to bad. Just looking forward to some better weather so I can try out my new bike. :yes
She is booked in on the 12th February for a custom map, I will put up my results after then :thumbup
I have the RSV4 Factory manual in PDF format which if anyone needs I can send via e-mail.
Any other questions feel free to ask :cheers
