Had the bike for 2000 miles now and since ive had it the throttle has always seemed very snatchy , i ride nearly all the time in sport but in and around town etc its a ******* nightmare , its more of a on/off switch than a throttle and track mode is much worse . once your out on the faster roads then its fine but i thought if this is wot fly by wire is like then screw that !!

Anyway i was tinkering around with it and i thought i would check the throttle cables , even though i havent felt any slack at the throttle ,,,,, loose as **** , quick tighten and went for a spin today and its like a different bike , i am now riding in track mode a lot smoother than i was in sport and no on/off feeling .

Thought i would post this in case anyone else was having the same feeling with their bike , if not then mine was put together by monkeys and i enclose a picture of some ****s for you entertainment and for wasting you time :thumbup

It's one of the first things that I did to the TV4.

I dial out almost all slack in any bike and it feels so much better.

Nice post, do they adjust at the throttle end or the potentiometer end?

There is a fair bit of slop in mine too - it must be the way they come out of the factory.

What's all this aboot throttles, I'd rather be dialing in to Tokyo Joe wae her nips. :yes

Good post mate, I haven't had any issues, but will check anyway.
First Service on Friday so will ask them to check too

As rizla and col said , i too always take the slack out of the throttle cables but this time i didnt notice any slack but its nice to ride it in track mode .
Sorry Aldo , i should of made the text bigger !!!! anyone see King Kong in the photo , apparently hes there somewhere :lol

I took a couple of turns out of mine and made it much nicer.

I bet there is some daft H&S reason why there is so much slop in the cable!

Gavin.

Great post 'Shotgun', I too have a really snatchy throttle so will check this out once the bike comes back from the Dealership AGAIN for the 3rd time - keeps stalling and fueling is *****.

Cheers

Just to add to this little thread .... just had a service done and the guy reset the tps , much better and not so much an on/off switch so maybe that could work for some of you .
