This is my 54 plate Tuono R. Only picked her up yesterday so havent had chance to take many pics. Intended to ride her out to Matlock/Matlock Bath today but its raining.. booooo.

She only has 6k miles and seems pretty much mint and I think its totally standarde except for MTC Carbon Can. On that note, the bike came with a dyno printout from when the can was fitted.. shows about a 5bhp increase.. is that about normal for a can ?

Cheers guys.. Just thinking of some subtle mods for now i.e a few stickers, not OTT as I don't wan't it to look tacky, but ideally like they were meant to be there.. So a few lion heads and perhaps small Brembo stickers.. any suggestions ?

Also i'm not sure about the MTC can, im considering looking for an alternative as im not sure I like the sound, perhaps to loud (dare I say too loud) ?

No,no,no!!! Stickers are *****.

She looks nice mate and personally I love the can.

I've got the chunky Standard race can on mine and it's legal and loud, plus it looks great too.

I love my Tuono, you'll grow to love yours too.

Track day it if poss. ...They are great fun!

Cheers Ric, after a couple of rides im now used to the can so won't be getting rid of it. Quickest change of mind ever. Its just a little harsh when revving up on choke but once its off and been ridden its awesome.. surprised how if im gentle I can hardly hear it which makes it good for longer journeys but then give it a little more right wrist and it barks and people look or get out of the way which is wicked. If find myself blipping the throttle at low revs in traffic etc to see who looks.. childish but fun. Twice now Ive had 2 youths give me the Rev it gesture.

Yeah it certainly makes you grin doesn't it!

My mate was stunned my can is legal but I ain't complaining.

It's taken a few track days to get to know her traits but she's a keeper and I'm thoroughly impressed.

If I could ask one more thing of her, I would love even more power but I might just have to cough up one day and buy the 2006 or even the VI one.

Talking about power.. i'm thinking of making some minor amendments but wonder if its worth it.. i'm considering

Upgrade to Iridium plugs
K&N filter
Forza Aprilia or Gabro chip

I hear that the airbox tweak is worth doing but its a bit out of my price league at the mo, unless i can get a good 2nd hand one cheapish. Wondering if I should just put a chip on her to match the MTC exhaust and see how it goes?

Any thoughts guys ?

I read on af1 that iridium plugs were not the best for our engines because of the different temperatures they run at from standard plugs (I seem to remember that they make our engines run worse). K&N has people who love and people who hate. Your mileage may vary on that one.
The consensus for moah powah on af1 seems to be, gabro chip, collector box mod and renegade or similar air box mod

I can't believe people want more power, I hardly use much throttle or revs most of the time and it's plenty quick enough for me.

When I had my bike serviced the other week, he dynod it as part of the service and showed me another he had done lots of work to. Not a great deal of difference tbh about 10bhp I think it was. Completely pointless for me, but I suppose for track days it would make a difference.

Hi, I see what you mean and I agree that it's perhaps slightly pointless, I just want to get the best out of the engine without causing damage or knock on effects. Id think that the current level of performance of mine lacks a bit mid-range and comparing my dyno printout to others I reckon a Gabro chip may give me a smoother power output all through the range probably making it a nice ride overall and not just more powerful at max. I reckon I won't bother with the air filter nor the air filter mod and will see if Gabro can do me a chip to work with the MTC can and ideally smooth out the power band and perhaps a cheeky small boost overall... if this is possible with my current set up then I reckon i will be handing over a bit of cash soon. Happy to hear other people's feedback also..

To get over that dip in performance (which is there for emissions and noise testing / homologation) the two most successful mods from the Mille and Tuono are the joining of the collector box pipes and the airbox mod. I'll post up some pics of the collector mod if you're not familiar with it.

Hi Ian, quick answer is I'm not sure. I only bought the bike a couple of weeks ago and it was already in place. Ive looked through the receipts that came with the bike and nowt for this.. and I cant see any logo's on it also. Sorry bud.

I like the look of your double bubble screen, do you know what make it is?
As I just bought a Powerbronze double bubble and it looks way smaller in height than yours
