Accessory Socket

Anybody here fitted a 12V accessory socket to a Gen1 and where did you put it? I'm thinking of running one from the battery with the socket just below the fuse box or relay box in the nose cone, Looks handy for plugging in the Satnav and mainly out of the rain.

Planning on doing a couple of continental raids this summer and satnav would be handy.
 
I just ran a sat-nav lead (small USB) back straight onto the battery with a fuse and the end just sits on the top of the dash.
