After much angst-ing, comparison shopping, and figuring out what I wanted, I slapped down for the Givi T477 Tail bag from Motorcycle Superstore ($82. - my review made it to their site).
I purchased the bag for a trip to Canada. It fits very well on rear seat of the Tuono, attaches securely to points on bike. It holds *a lot* of stuff (31L) - my sleeping bag and clothes for 4 days. It never shifted or moved and we hit some pretty rough dirt and paved roads. The bungee cords are a tight stretch to attach - which is a good thing. there are also (p)leather patches on each cord to be shifted to a point to prevent the cord from abrading the bodywork.
Annoyances: The left side is a separate pouch but the zipper is in the middle! It should be up top so as not to lose storage space. Also, right side is NOT a separate pouch but a side zipper access to the main compartment - no real advantage for a bag this size. Top flap has zippered pouch. Comes with a rain cover and carry strap. Rugged and well-made, it was really nice to travel light for the weekend. pics follow:
