Hi guys,

Iv recently purchased a 2004 rsv (53 plate) and being new to the v-twin scene im a bit baffled.

Right, looking at my logbook and typng in the reg no. online it clearly says that I have a mille factory model but looking at the factory models I see they come complete with the gold ohlins suspension and the blue wheels but the thing im a bit confused about is that I have the sachs rear shock, black front forks and grey style wheels?

Please can somebody enlighten me if this is a true factory bike???

Many thanks,
Lee

it isn't at least not all of it. The log book is based on the frame mainly so the frame could be from a Factory and the rest from another bike or it's just a mistake.

Factory models should have a Black frame, OZ Blue wheels, Ohlins front and rear, Radial Brakes and a fair bit of Carbon instead of black plastic for underseat panels/mudguard/hugger etc
Your spec is from an RSVR which was the base model for the Gen2.

As long as the vin etc matches the log book and the frame is silver and not black, it's probably an error made by the garage that first registered the bike. In which case I wouldn't worry about it.

iv just taken a look on google and it seems to be that my bike is a gen2 rsv1000r. The numbers are matching the frame to the logbook so no worries there but I don't get why it says is a factory model, as you said spoonz it must be a mistake.

I think on the end of the gen 1 and the start of the gen 2 they just put anything on the log books [emoji3]

More than likely done it to get the sales lol, I wonder if I'd get factory money for it then if I ever came to sell it 😉 hehe. I do love the bike, taken a bit of getting used to but I got there. What's is the opinions of these rsv1000r's? Are they a well liked bike?

Ah nice, red like mine too im after a load of stainless bolts too as it has been left out in the rain prior to me owning it so a few have gone rusty and I can't be having that

Well guys it's been confirmed by a local aprilia dealership that it's a rsv1000r as expected. Been in touch with dvla and they have advised me to send in my logbook with a covering letter and they will change the details. Fingers crossed it will be a simple procedure hey
