Standard exhaust decibel level ??

Has anyone had a standard can on `99 shape mille noise tested at a track ? Only I have brands booked for next week was planning on taking my Gixxer that I know comes in at 101db which is the max for the GP track but I really want to take the RSV but I know the scorpion on it won`t pass the testing so I`ve swapped to standard can and even that appears to sound loud ?
I don`t want to get all the way up there only to be turned away but am I being paranoid that a stock can would be that loud ?

With my genuine aprilia racing can and a aprilia ecu mine ran at 96db on the standing test so you should be fine! Try the app (noise meter) seems quite accurate hold it 2 ft away at a 45• angle and it should give a reading!

Don't be confused with the drive by limit and the noise test limit
 
Standard Can should be fine, if it's that big heavy lump one. My titanium Aprilia race can came in at 103, ok for Indy but had to put db killer in for the GP, that came in at 98. Hope that's of use.
 
Yep, you should be fine with that I think!! Have a test on yr I phone or similar with a free db meter to give you a rough idea of the db it's chucking out at 5000rpm. Hold a foot or so away fro the rear of can to one side. Mine is in pic below it's the racing can.

Cheers yea I think your right, ive tried the app on my note 2 but I don't think its that accurate as its says my gsxr is 89db when I know it was 103db at brands last month ??. Ive just spoken to msv and he said it should be fine but he also said I can take both bikes just in case so I may do that anyways and swap between sessions if both pass :)

Excellent mate,I was going to book inters but coming off at lydden on the gixxer knocked me a bit so I stuck with novices but can`t wait as I loved doing the Indy in July, Yea come find us not sure what time we are getting there but I`ll be in a white T4 with the RSV and my mate in a light blue transit with his Gsxr750 :thumbup.
Just got to get my crash bungs on this afternoon and take off mirrors and number plate. Also bought an Ion Air Pro HD cam so got to try to find a good location for that.:biggrin
 
I`ve put the baffle in the scorpion and it defo sounds a lot quieter so fingers crossed, though the standard is in my van just in case. See ya there butchersdog we`re leaving at 5:30ish so should there for 7ish but we do have a stop off in Whistable onroute though.
 
OK garage 22 up to about 30 look free so I'll be at the far end in one of them, I'l try and reserve some room if yo need it :)
