Hi Chaps,

I am about to buy a 2005 RSV with under 3000Miles on the clock. First Aprilia, First V-Twin.

Been reading around the forums for known issues etc. I believe RedRat's collector mod is for the earlier models and not needed for the change to twin exhausts?

I do know that the teeth count has been changed, front and back. Other than that, it is standard. Anything I should double check or any essential mods required?

I will get some pics sorted when I get it, but it is the Silver model with Lion decal and red belly.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers.

Sure it's got 3k miles ??. Early ones notorious for resetting clocks..nice if it so low mileage

See if there is a dent on the frame near gear lever or brake lever will show it's been down ...marks on the swingarm where the exhaust may have been pushed into it

Other than that much of a muchness ..ask how new the battery is ....If it makes a nasty noise when it's started from left hand crankcase sprag is on its way out and costs a bit to repair...b

Yeah it's a lad at work who has had it from new. Never had it out for more than a couple hundred miles per season since new in 2005.

I will check all of the above cheers! Looking to actually stump up the cash and take delivery next month/payday and I will get pics up.

Hi Guys.

Finally took delivery this weekend and can confirm it does have slightly more miles than expected but it is still only 3500 miles.

Took a quick picture. Very pleased with the bike. Much smoother than expected. Obviously power delivery is epic.

It has a rear hugger, and a tail tidy with a reflector attached to the rear plate. Brand new tyres only 100 Mile old. Recent MOT and Oil Change. Chain was a bit dry so I have oiled that up.

I am only the second owner. V5C confirmed this when I took delivery and signed the necessary paper work. Log Book and Manual and last 6 MOT certificates included. Original Front and Rear sprockets includes. He also threw in a paddock stand!

And the sound of a V-Twin is just orgasmic. Any recommendations for enhancing that sound? Custom cans or a particular brand to look out for?

Wow that's a minter. Any cans are an improvement over standard as far as sound goes. I've had cored originals which sounded amazing but to loud for trackdays so I now have arrows they look fantastic and pretty fruity.
