Hi, thought i'd join up as I found this site while surfing for anything to do with the bike i'm picking up Thursday after a twenty year break from owning one.it sounds like anything i'll ever need to know about my 2000 rsv can be found here. I wasn't really looking for such a beast , but the price was right so I took a chance. Please tell me its an easy bike to get on with .I've always lusted after one ever since they were launched, was a race mechanic for a rs 125 and 250 in the mid 90's and just fell in love with the aprilia styling . Speaking of which that standard can has got to go, what's the cheapest way to go for a pretty modification?.Cheers

welcome along here and on RSVR.NET you'll find all you need to know.

pretty can...check the classifieds or ebay...all depends on your budget and style you are after

check the ecu wire has been cut and the tophat restrictor removed from under the airfilter.

hi redshift, welcome aboard. if its not on here, its not worth knowing. :biggrin

thanks guys

Thank you for saying hi.Picking the bike up tomorrow .looked it over sunday as best I could. It runs good and is very tidy for a 13yr old bike ,a couple of scuffs on the tail unit and a small amount of paint peel on the rims, fairing and tank A1.It's done 30,000 with a valve clearance service at 24,000,paid £1500 for it and that's about all I know for now.will find out if I did the right thing in a couple of days I suppose.Bloody nervous about bringing it home,it's been along time and there is considerably more traffic on the roads today than twenty years ago!wish me luck!.will put some pic's up soon as.cheers for all the tips about what to look for redratbike.is it possible to make a stubby out of an original can,i'm okay with tig and have access to a lathe etc and the pipes scuffed at the front anyway, just wondered.cheers again Ady.

hi redshift im also new to tuonos and got mine two weeks ago.wow what a great bike to own,im very chuffed with mine.be careful they are a bit of a beast if you unleash it.enjoy.this is a great site.:eatcorn

Picked the mille up last night with happily no drama. A bit daunting to be on such beast after a long break but after a few hundred yards it soon became apparent this thing has perfect manners. Things have come such a long way from my ZXR/FZR days(the FZR,s handling used to scare the crap out of me).Twenty five miles later, a big smile on my face and probably my mates slowest ever ride out on his gsxr (apart from when he picked it up naturally!)the bikes in the garage (it was getting bloody cold by 7.30).will give it a polish and get some picks up today, 3yr old permitting.
