tuono as a track bike?

anyone tracking their Tuono? how does it compare...say to an RSV. I know its mostly the same kit, but did you have to swap out springs or anything. :O

I have yet to track any bike. But I've heard tales of swarms of Tuonos at local tracks :)
 
once you do, you won't ride on the street anymore...well at least not in the same way. I can't see myself hitting the canyons now after riding track only for the past two years. i do miss the commute and put around aspect of motorcycling though....which a tuono would be perfect for :devious

I have had mine out twice in two weeks. Once I got used to the V-Twin again, it was great. I can go pretty quick on her, the brakes are awesome, however the Gixxer had a bit more go out of the corners. Meaning, the Tuono will wheelie and such but the Gixxer at 10000 or so really out accelerates the Tuono significantly. That said, I bet I can catch a Gixxer on it, unless it is a really fast guy. I weighed the Gixxer and the Tuono on the same scale, the Tuono was 448 lbs, the Gixxer was 416 lbs. The weight difference is noticable, however the Tuono carries it way up high compared to the Gixxer. Feels more like my KTM did only a lot heavier (KTM weighed 240 or so)

The Tuono appears to be a pretty sweet and responsive track bike.
 
Not a lot, it already has the shotgun exhaust and appropriate chip, I added an Evolizione Cycles Adjustable Fuel Pressure regulator, Brembo Sintered HH pads, a Michelin PP rear, I changed the Slave cylinder seal and flushed out the lines, bled the rear brake, changed the levers to stockers, the shifter and brake pedals to stock. I had to rezero the Tach, I straightened and welded the sliders. I changed the cover on the left side to an undamaged one, I straightened the fairing, I have a new lower triple clamp. I installed TLR rear signal lights, replaced the front signal lights, I plan to install an integrator.

Not much really, only had it a month or two. Did I mention the kill switch and grips I replaces, I also adjusted the TPS, and rerouted the hoses to stock and such.
 
Suspension is ok so far. I was able to set sag, the Showa forks are sweet. The rear Sachs shock is better than the stock shock on the Gixxer was. If I mod any suspension it will be the Gixxer forks.
 
Loved my Tuono on the track. Once the Ohlins are set up the bike turns quick and going in deep and coming out of the turns hard on the gas is easy!

Of course, it would be nice with the Ohlins. I may, ahem.....someday purchase a Tuono Factory, then I might buy some springs :devious
 
I've done almost nothing to my bike in the way of mods. I've got a farkle or two on there, blue anodized aluminum frame sliders (to match the wheels :)), clear turn signal lenses and shortened turn signal stalks... that's pretty much it. My local dealer has been trying to sell me an arrow exhaust and airbox since I bought the bike but I can't seem to get it through committee ;-)
