Guzzi vs Caponord

Maggar How do you find the Caponord compares to the Guzzi. When I test rode both at Moto Strada I found the Caponord to need revving away from standstill, very little ooph from low revs. Very nice once moving as a GSXR rider found out when he could not shake me off. I could see the cogs moving in his brain "What the hell is this"! I was worried on a long sweeping bend where I hit a pothole and it threw me a long way off line, not what I was expecting from active suspension, and not nice if there were lorries coming at you. I tried the same bend on the Stelvio and it did not worry it much.

The Caponord is a million miles away from the Guzzi Griso, it's so much better. I've only ridden a Stelvio briefly and wasn't overly impressed - sorry!
I have to say that my experience with the Caponord is completely opposite to yours; I find that mine takes off like a scalded cat from standstill without the need for a huge handful of revs. Also (running usually in "auto" suspension mode) I am constantly amazed at how much the bumps and pot holes are made to vanish by this system. It is the stability of the Capo that makes it stand out from the Multistrada et al for me.
What engine mode were you in when you set off for your test ride? If it was in Sport or Touring you shouldn't have experienced any sort of unwillingness to take off. Mine flies!
The Stelvio is ok but I personally wouldn't go anywhere near a Guzzi 8v motor again, you spend far too much time listening to the engine and trying to decide whether it's a normal rattle or one that is eating the cam followers!
