Hi all, just swapped zx10r for 2010 1000r wanted to slow down a bit. Think I chose wrong bike. Awesome and intoxicating. Had a shiver few years back and hankered for a twin again. Should have done it sooner. Neil.

Welcome fella.

...wanted to slow down a bit. Think I chose wrong bike...

:lol. Sure did! I'm having trouble getting my back tyre to last 2.5k miles, but then I mostly do short fun runs of around 60 to 80 miles a throw, making the most of the acceleration. It's certainly 'fast' any way you look at it :thumbup

Hey n welcome pal,

There certainly not slow, the throttles sort of an on - off switch :thumbup

Just ordered standard linkages as my Tuono had been lowered by previous owner, it is stock at the front so a bit out of balances. Should improve things eh?

I did a similar thing!had a gsxr 1000 which was insanely fast and needed to slowdown! Got a 07 tuono and never looked back! Suspension wise get the rear back to standard and get 4 rings showing on the forks and it'll out hand anything out there!

Pmsl Rizla, that's not slowing down ! I'm an old ******* so I really needed to slowdown!

Same here, 2014 ZX10R heavily breathed upon to a Tuono 1100 factory, must say loads more fun on the Tuono.

Welcome N...

Might be worth checking your side stand if its been lowered - original UK stand is a pos at best (they fall / blow over quite easily) & if the back has been lowered then they may have changed / butchered the side stand to accomodate ?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I think the side stand is unmolested but as usual rubbishy. First few times I used it I dare not let go! As far as the bike goes it is a breath of fresh air after the wickedly quick zx10r, the tuono makes me smile at its insanity all the time I'm on it this feeling on the 10 was at silly speeds. Glad I did it now. Linkage plates on the way so will see how much better it is after fitting , will let you all know. Cheers.

Linkage plates fitted all ok. Looks better now it's correct height. Ride tomorrow to see how much better it will feel. Hopefully lots.

Hi Neil,
Welcome to the mad house :lol
Tuono as a sensible (calmer) option? You're mad you'll fit right in.
If you want to make it a bit calmer I would thoroughly recommend a trip to AP for 1060 conversion :lol

Thx, at the moment I am readjusting my riding to get used to wind blast again. Neck ache is the best speeding deterrent lol. I think a 1060 conversion would be great but would probably be defeating why I swapped. Mad bike. Thirsty though!!!

I don't call mine Georgie (as in Best) for nothing, it does like a drink but the grin is more than worth it :thumbup

Can't get more than 90 miles to a tank and sometimes less! But riding it like you stole it is a whole lot of fun!

Exactly, even more fun with a 1060 and 15/42 gearing :bounce
